God's purpose for creating man (3)

iii. TO ALWAYS OBEY GOD
God created you so that in everything you will always obey Him. You are not created to disobey your creator. Are you obeying God?
“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as mush as in obeying the voice of the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams”. I Samuel 15:22.
Do you know that you are created to obey God and not to debate with Him? God has never been satisfied with a disobedient man. Adam and Eve were sent out of the wonderfully and specially created beautiful Garden of Eden just because of disobedience. Genesis 3.
Know this, you can not disobey God and still be able to worship Him and represent Him on the surface of the earth.
Saul was dethroned as king because he disobeyed God. So, he was not fit again to represent God before the house of the Israelite. What a pity?
I Samuel 15:23.
Disobedience disqualifies you from fulfilling the other purposes of creating you.
Man was created to always obey God. This purpose is revealed in the first commandment given to Adam.
“And the Lord God commanded the man, you are free to eat any tree in the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. For when you eat of it you will surely die”. Genesis 2:16-17.
Here we see God’s first call for obedience from man. Are you obeying God? Disobedience does not only disqualify you from worshiping God and representing Him, it also brings curses and punishment. See how Paul puts it,
“What shall we say then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? God forbid!” Romans 6:1-2a [NIV & KJV]

The purpose of God for creating man{two}

ii. CREATED TO REPRESENT GOD
Man was created in God’s own image. This is because God wanted man to represent Him on the surface of the earth. To make this purpose clearer, God gave man the first assignment to do on the surface of the earth. Man received the first authority to name all other creatures in the Garden of Eden on behalf of God. Genesis 2:19 asserts that:
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground”. Genesis 1:27-28
From the passage above, man possessed the right qualification to represent God. Man created in the image of God. After the creation of man, God was satisfied with man. They (God and Man) were in touch and tune with each other. So man had every qualification needed to represent God on the surface of the earth. Man could not do anything without consulting God. So, man was closely related to His creator”. Man was truly a replica of God in the moral likeness of God. And God was not ashamed to give man special power and authority.
Man because he did not know himself, lower his dignity and reputation before one of the created he named. Man obeyed the voice of a creature – serpent and disobeyed the voice of his creator – God. Immediately, right there in the same Garden of Eden, the purpose of representing God on the surface of the earth was lost.
Dear reader, the purpose of creating you is to represent God. This simply means anything you do must be what God wants you to do. Are you truly representing God where you are now? One thing is clear; you either represent God or Satan. You can not do without representing one. Mathew 6:24.
If you are not representing God, you have lost the moral likeness of God. So, you are no more a replica of God. The only reason is that you do not know whom you are; you do not know why you are created. This is just why you are not honouring God in everything you do. You have lost the glory, given to you at creation, through sin, as Adam and Eve did. Therefore, you are no more fit and qualified to represent God again.

THE PURPOSE OF GOD FOR CREATING MAN
“Then God said, let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that moves along the ground”. Genesis 1:26
“The people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise”. Isaiah 43:21
…. For I have created him for my glory. I have formed him; yea, I have made him”. Isaiah 43:7 KJV
These passages from the scripture show that you are created to;
i. Worship God
ii. Represent God
iii. Obey GodLet’s start from the first one
i. CREATED TO WORSHIP GOD:The book of Isaiah 43:7 and 21 say respectively that you are created to proclaim the praise of God and that you are also created for the glory of God. It is through worship that man can give glory to God. Man can also proclaim the praises of God through worship.Dear reader, there is no other creature that can do this effectively than you – man. That is why you are precious in God’s sight and honoured by Him. Isaiah 43:4The book of Romans 12:1-2 tells us how to truly worship God.“…. Offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any linger to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will”.
The only way you can offer your body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God (that will be your spiritual act of worship) is to conform no longer to the pattern of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. You are God’s property. Whatever you do must give glory to God. Whatever you use your body for must be to the glory of God. Your mind dictates how you use your body. If your mind is not renewed you can not use your body for the glory of God. It simply means that you can not worship God. This is why your mind must be renewed. God must always be praised and worshiped by you (Corinthians 10:31 and Colossians 3:17).
Oh!It seems man is longer living his life to worship God.Every activity of man seems to be bringing “sadness” unto God.Why and what can be done to make man regain the purpose of his creation?
